Yesterday we visited Uzbas Vine yard and vine tasting lounge and could not believe what an enchanting place it was, it brought back memories of Tuscany, truly beautiful and hidden in the depths of Urla in Turkey. Not only was the scenery fantastic but the wine itself was excellent, tasted in an ultra modern , very stylish wine tasting room with nibbles to boot. All the buildings were stunning, with a pool running alongside the entrance which attracted small birds, We could easily have been tempted to stay in one of the luxury rooms available, two in all, fantastically designed with stunning views , bathrooms with that wow factor and an amazing lounge area.Sadly we couldn’t stay but left with a bottle of red Nexus in hand which we thoroughly enjoyed with our lamb cutlets on the BBQ at home, view wasn’t the same but the wine and the company of my family made it a memorable day and evening.
The foundations of Urla Şarapçılık were laid as when Mr Ortabas and Uzbas Ltd started their own vineyards some ten years ago and started working on how to promote the town of Urla as a center of attraction as well as a town with its’ own wine brand.
Let me share my experience with the following pictures, they won’t do it justice but you will get some idea.
